Travel Gifts for Men Under $30

travel gifts for men

Planning some holiday travel or shopping?  Now that I’ve been in the habit of packing and unpacking my suitcase, I’ve been able to vet some travel accessories.  With the busiest airline travel season and holiday lineup just around the corner… it’s the perfect time to pick up travel gifts to make your or your loved one’s traveling more stylish, organized, and enjoyable.

1. Toiletry Kit

It’s time for a toiletry kit refresh.  This one is made of canvas and its waterproof.  It’s a great size for travel & packs super well.  You won’t even need wrapping paper as it comes in its own gift box at no extra charge.  No wonder it made our best travel gifts list for men.

2. Reading Material

Everyone can benefit from this book by Nicholas Carr about how our computers are changing us.  By the time you finish, you’ll be outdoor raking leaves or digging holes just to reject modern technology. It’s a must read for a thoughtful reflection on how we live in this day and age of the SCREEN.

3. New Shades

If you’re like me, you loose sunglasses pretty quick. These shades have a 5 star rating and at only $14 you won’t feel as much shame as when you lost your RayBans that one time.  Nothing says cool like a new pair of shades.

4. Cocktail Kit

No bartending experience required. This Old Fashioned Cocktail Kit is highly packable and serves six. We like this travel gift because it can be shared and you can multiply the joy.

5. Hot Beverage Tumbler

At 30oz. this one takes up some room in your carryon, but with a generic brand name, this tumbler comes in at half the price of a YETI.  Just remember to fill it up at your favorite coffee shop after walking through security.

6. Neck Pillow

What kind of travel gifts list would this be without an oh so fancy neck pillow? But seriously, if you’re flying long distance and want to have any chance of getting some Zzzz’s… you have to have one of these. And may I suggest a window seat?

7. Space Saving Bags

Crew members know that the secret to packing a lot in your roller bag is to roll your clothes. These bags take it to the next level by pushing the air out as you roll it up.  No vacuum needed.

8. External Battery

Many airplane interiors are updated to provide you with the recharging option your devices need, and some airports have gates with a plethora of outlets. But you’ll want this on hand for when you don’t end up in that situation. Trying to order an Uber on 2% battery life is not a fun game to play.  Just please don’t add it to your checked luggage.  Carry this one on.

9. A Travel Journal

Your grandchildren will love finding this Moleskin Notebook and reading it someday.  Log where you went, what you did, who you met and prices.  Throw some receipts in the back. Keep a Beer Log and sketch your drinks.  Do it man.

10. Swim Trunks

Sure, you already have that pair you love… but like those sunglasses above, it’s nice to have an extra pair of trunks on hand that you can just keep in your luggage, especially if you travel a lot. While you’re at it, hide some boxers in your luggage too… right now! It lives there.  You’ll thank me when you forget it someday.

Pack Light. Explore More.

I hope this list of travel gifts for men helps you choose something practical yet indulgent for the special man in your life this holiday season.
