We have a warning to anyone looking to visit ‘Magnolia Market’. If you haven’t been to The Silos yet in Waco, Texas it is time to start planning your trip. With tons of affordable places to stay, visiting The Silos makes for a wonderful weekend getaway with your girlfriends. But we have a warning to anyone looking to visit and some great tips, so read on:
While there are tons of locations “on the map” as it relates to the Chip and Joanna Gaines empire… these are our three favorite:
1. Eat at Magnolia Table
Ok, so the restaurant famous for Jo’s mouthwatering biscuits and jam is worth (clap) the (clap) wait (clap). It is NOT located near the silos… you’ll find this spot to eat just a couple miles south of The Silos, so go here first for breakfast before you visit Magnolia Market. It’s affordable and oh so delicious.
2. Shop & Play at The Silos
The lawn, The Silos, the garden, The Bakery, the Market… it’s all here. This is what it’s all about: time to visit ‘Magnolia Market’. Whether or not weather is fair, continue to expect crowds. Enjoy some lawn games with your friends and shop until you drop (more on this in the warning below).
3. Visit The Findery
Since the rise of the Joanna Gaines empire, other furniture and design stores have been popping up in Waco. The Findery has beautiful rustic furniture and decor. It will also give you relief from the crowds at Magnolia.
Here’s what you can skip…
Ok so it’s probably on your list, but remember, sometimes less is more… these are the sites you can skip:
- Harp Design Co: Meh, it’s fine. Overpriced and super small store front.
- The Bakery: If you already ate at Magnolia Table, no need to wait in the long lines at The Bakery near The Silos. Just enjoy some cuisine from the other food trucks on site.
Time for the Warning
The main issue with planning a girls trip to The Silos at Magnolia Market in Waco, Texas is that you’re going to want to buy things. A lot of things. If you’ve been following the rise of Joanna Gaines on Fixer Upper and love her style… the Market is a glut of affordable and beautiful pieces for your home that you will love. They even have a whole section of their store near the registers dedicated to helping you ship large items back home. So don’t worry about not bringing a large suitcase. But don’t say we didn’t warn you!
Warning: You’re going to want to buy things. A lot of things.
While you Wait to Visit ‘Magnolia Market’…
While you plan and wait for your trip, make sure NOT to pick up a copy of Joanna’s new book: Homebody because apparently its a “Guide to Creating Spaces You Never Want to Leave”… and if you do that, well… it doesn’t leave much space for adventure. But then again, it’s pretty great:
