Tow it Yourself

Towing with Your own Tow Vehicle

We allow renters to tow with their own fully equipped* tow vehicle that meets our minimum requirements. Please refer to our listing on Outdoorsy for mileage fees.

If your vehicle does not meet these requirements, no worries! We offer delivery too.

Tow Vehicle Minimum Requirements

  • At least 5000# towing capacity
  • At least 525# tongue weight
  • Hitch and 2-5/16 Receiver ball
  • Electric Trailer Brake Control System (these are typically installed after-market and the wired version device is typically underneath the steering column, by the driver’s knee. There are also wireless systems controlled by an app. Renter will show proof of Electronic Trailer Brake Controller System prior to Rental Confirmation). Some larger vehicles–like trucks–do have these systems built in. We need to verify either scenario as it is unlawful to tow anything over 3000# without this type of system.

Examples of Appropriate Tow Vehicles

Listed vehicles must meet all above minimum requirements. This list is not comprehensive, there are many other appropriate vehicles. If you have a question about whether or not your vehicle meets the above requirements, please contact us.
